Workshop in Dubai about the Preparation of Oil and Gas Strategy

The Chancellor of BUOG, Dr. Ali M. Al- Mashat, has participated in the workshop organized by the United Nations Development Program in Dubai; representatives from BUOS, South Technical University, SOC and SGC have also participated in this workshop.

They discussed strength and weaknesses points, opportunities and challenges of oil and gas committee in Basra Governorate Council; as well as the possibility of organizing and developing cooperation between Oil Companies and the academic and state institutes.

Participants stressed the importance of utilizing energy (oil and gas) in a way that achieves economic diversification in the country. They also confirmed the vital role of Oil and Gas Committee for being the decision maker regarding coordination between oil companies and the training centers, institutes and universities.
