Vision

The college was established in 2013-2014 in Basra for being the center of the Southern governorates and is well known for its oil wealth; the curriculum were chosen in a way that corresponds to the purpose of foundation which is fully oriented to extractive and transformational engineering, it comprises three departments:

1. Oil and Gas Engineering Department

2. Chemical Engineering and Oil Refining Department

3. Polymers and Petrochemicals Engineering Department

Mission

The college looks forward to graduate qualified engineers capable to encounter the difficult transition period experienced by our beloved country. It seeks to provide specialized distinguished cadres to raise the level of national product efficiently to compete with what is imported from abroad now.

Objectives:

The college aims to:

1. Prepare qualified petroleum engineers (Exploration and Extractive Engineering) and chemical engineers (Transformational Engineering) through contemporary techniques.

2. Enable students to access and learn more about the latest technologies related to oil extraction and transformation processes; in addition to the signing of mutual agreements with international universities to hold training courses.

3. Achieve continuous and effective evaluation of the curriculum by each department and trying to keep updated to the latest technologies that belong to each department.

4. Achieve effective follow up by the college regarding direct guidance of engineering projects that contribute and serve extractive and transformative processes.

5. Emphasize the improvement of students' capabilities regarding the technical, scientific, artistic and creative fields.

6. Activate the educational guidance activities represented by regular meetings with the students and conducting frequent visits to students' dormitories to find out their problems.

7.  Maintain and improve work quality as well as the adoption of ISO requirements.
