New Joint Cooperation with Weatherford Company

In response to an invitation from Weatherford Company for Oil Services in Iraq, a delegation represented by the Dean of Oil and Gas Engineering College, Dr. Firas Al- Badran and the Head of Chemical Engineering and Oil Refining Department, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab has visited the headquarter of the company at North Rumaila so as to be acquainted with the situation of students enrolled within the summer training program at the company.
Dr. Al- Badran revealed that," An expanded meeting has been carried on with the student trainees who were thankful for their participation in such a distinctive opportunity", adding that "this training course represents a practical reflection for the academic and theoretical study". He added that, "another meeting was held with the Regional Director of Operations, Mr. Munaf Arnous, the Regional Director of Human Resources, Mr. Zardash Kanal, the Southern Region Operations Director, Mr. Emad Saad and the Training Director at the Compant, Mr. Narg Derhakobien, the meeting discussed the possibility of creating joint collaboration between the company and the university; the directors above indicated that the company has been looking for such specialized universities for being an important source that provide qualified engineers".
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to develop and establish the Weatherford Museum for Industrial Models in the college headquarter; they also agreed to provide the total needs of the college and to proceed with the establishment of a memorandum of understanding that represents the constitution for future cooperation.
