Riyada Initiative Kicks Off at Basrah University of Oil and Gas

The activities of the Riyada initiative launched by the Prime Minister to support youth projects and graduates were launched at the Basra University of Oil and Gas today, Sunday, the sixteenth of July, under the auspices of the President of Basra University of Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, and in the presence of the members of the Council of the University of Basra for Oil and Gas and the head of the mass communication team of the Council of Ministers, Ms. May Adnan.

The opening ceremony witnessed verses from the Holy Quran, listening to the national anthem, and reading Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, then the university’s speech was presented by the scientific assistant, Professor Dr.

He stressed that the initiative launched by the Prime Minister aims to create an effective environment to invest the skills, advantages and talents of youth and job seekers, train them and prepare them for the economic market to make a great ideal impact on the local community.

Al-Baaj added that the Riyada initiative is a golden opportunity for young people and job seekers to learn and establish their own project, as the state will grant certificates of participation to those who have succeeded in the courses, in addition to funding for their own projects.

The official of the Division of Continuing Education, Assistant Lecturer Muntazar Oraibi Al-Lami, indicated that the initiative will be in the form of intensive courses directed to students, graduates and job seekers, consisting of 5 effective lectures and by the most skilled trainers for the purpose of preparing young people and qualifying them for the labor market.

Then, at the end of the ceremony, he announced the launch of the training in 3 different halls, with 20 students in each training hall. Eng. Uday Malik, Eng. Karama Abdel-Jabbar, and Mr. Reda Makki Jamil attended the courses.

The opening ceremony witnessed a wide presence of the media to cover the activities of the initiative.
