A delegation from the Basra University for Oil and Gas visited the State Company for Southern Fertilizers on Thursday, the 29th of February, to discuss avenues of cooperation with the company and establish a working plan between the two Basra parties for training administrative and technical company staff. The delegation of our university included Assistant Lecturer Rafid Khudair Radi, Head of the Department of Oil Project Management, Dr. Suroor Muayad Dawood, the manager of the Electronic Computing Center, and Assistant Lecturer Iqbal Jabbar Karim, responsible for the Training and Technical Support Unit at the Electronic Computing Center.
The delegation was received by the Assistant General Manager of the company, Senior Chemist Abdul Khader Saeed Youssef, Training Officer, Senior Engineer Ghassan Abdul Ali, Research and Development Officer, Senior Engineer Basim Mohsen Abdul Wahid. As well as Information Center Manager, Senior Programmer Luay Layth Abdul Hadi, and Maintenance Programs Officer, Senior Engineer Namareq Abdul Amir Amin.
During the meeting, mechanisms and means of cooperation at the research level were discussed, along with the exchange of academic and practical experiences, training of students, and scientific visits for university students to the company to benefit from practical aspects. The company's management emphasized the importance of developing scientific ideas through a mechanism of mutual scientific agreement between the two sides in the coming days.
It is mentioned that the State Company for Southern Fertilizers has begun taking future steps to update and utilize modern programs and systems in production sectors, which contributes to the development of production lines and meeting the needs of the local market.
