The workshop was held at Al-Ain University in Dhi Qar Governorate, and was dedicated to universities in southern Iraq, as part of the activities of the Erasmus program.

The training workshop lasted for three days, from September 28 to 30, 2026, with the participation of representatives from a number of universities in the southern governorates of Iraq, with the aim of enhancing knowledge of Erasmus programs and the mechanisms for applying to them and introducing the opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation provided by European higher education programs.

The workshop included an explanation of the mechanisms and procedures for applying to Erasmus programs, the requirements and controls for preparing and submitting applications, as well as a review of opportunities for cooperation and academic exchange and support for educational institutions, students and researchers in scientific and academic fields.
