The training course on "OSHA Occupational Health and Safety Management" for employees of the South Gas Company concluded at the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, and the participants underwent testing.

Under the patronage of the President of Basra Oil and Gas University, Professor Dr. Mohammed Hilal Hafez Al-Kaabi, the Continuing Education Center at Basra Oil and Gas University concluded its specialized training course in Occupational Health and Safety Management (OSHA) for employees of the South Gas Company on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The course lasted for five consecutive days, and the final day included a comprehensive final exam for the participants to assess their competence.

The closing day's activities included a test for the participants, aimed at assessing their benefit from the training topics and themes covered during the course, and measuring their level of understanding of the concepts and methods related to the application of occupational health and safety standards in workplaces.

The course, which was presented by Assistant Lecturer Muntadhar Oraibi Jassim, Head of the Training Division at the Continuing Education Center, covered a number of specialized topics, including risk assessment and monitoring at oil and gas work sites, and methods of investigating accidents and analyzing their causes.

This course is part of the continuing professional development programs implemented by the Continuing Education Center at Basra University for Oil and Gas, with the aim of developing the specialized skills of the participants and promoting a culture of occupational health and safety in the oil and gas sectors.
