The President of Basra University for Oil and Gas receives the Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate

The President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, received, in the Basra University for Oil and Gas Presidency building this morning, Thursday, September 17, 2026, the Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Dr. Ali Musair Yassin, and his accompanying delegation, which included the Deputy Head of the Syndicate, Dr. Idris Al-Juhayshi, the Head of the Syndicate branch in Babylon, Dr. Mushtaq Al-Khafaji, and the Head of the Syndicate branch in Basra, Dr. Diaa Falih Al-Fakiki.

The visit was to offer congratulations on the start of the new academic year 2026-2027, wishing the University of Basra for Oil and Gas, its students and staff a year full of success, excellence and scientific contribution.

During the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the University of Basra for Oil and Gas and the Iraqi Academics Syndicate were discussed, in order to support the academic and scientific process, develop the university environment, and raise the scientific and research level in academic institutions. The meeting also addressed a number of topics of common interest, and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two sides, in order to serve the academic staff and support the efforts of universities and academic institutions in carrying out their scientific and educational mission.

For his part, the President of the University welcomed the Head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate and his accompanying delegation, appreciating this visit and congratulations, and stressing the importance of cooperation with the Syndicate in a way that enhances the status of academics and supports the development of higher education and scientific research.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the University of Basra for Oil and Gas presented the university's shield to the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, as both sides expressed their aspiration to expand areas of cooperation and coordination during the next stage, in order to achieve common goals and contribute to the development of the educational and academic process.
