The University of Basra for Oil and Gas Council holds its first meeting for the academic year 2026/2027
The University of Basra for Oil and Gas Council held its first regular meeting for the academic year 2026/2027, chaired by the University President, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, and attended by the members of the Council, to discuss a number of important educational and administrative issues and files, in preparation for the start of the new academic year and to raise the level of academic and administrative performance in the university and all its formations.
The council discussed the ongoing preparations for the new academic year, and the follow-up on the implementation of the student guide for central admission for the academic year 2026/2027, in addition to organizing an orientation week, preparing and organizing various scientific activities, as well as launching the study and curriculum schedules in the university’s formations.
The council also discussed strengthening safety procedures in university buildings and infrastructure, ensuring the readiness of departments to receive students for the new academic year, in addition to monitoring the university’s readiness in the field of digital transformation and electronic systems in a way that contributes to developing the university education environment and improving the quality of services provided to students and faculty.
The Council addressed the importance of continuing to adopt the IQ Learn platform, as the official national platform for smart education launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq, and its role in supporting the university education system and enhancing the path of digital transformation. It was also emphasized that the instructors should continue to participate in and complete the training courses related to the eduba platform, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in order to enhance the skills of the teaching staff and support the requirements of digital education.
At the end of the session, the university president stressed the importance of integrating efforts among all university departments, and the need to continue working as one team to ensure a successful start to the new academic year, and to achieve the desired academic and administrative goals, in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university’s vision for developing its educational journey.
