The President of Basra University for Oil and Gas chairs an expanded meeting to discuss productive universities and the automation of the continuing education system at the university.

On Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, the President of Basra University for Oil and Gas, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, chaired an expanded meeting that included the Electronic Computing Center and the Continuing Education Center at the university, to discuss a number of files related to digital transformation and the development of institutional performance.

The meeting addressed the concept of productive universities, through working on developing, producing, marketing and investing in software and digital solutions in a way that contributes to diversifying income sources and enhancing the university’s role in employing modern technologies to serve society and various institutions.

The meeting also discussed the adoption of an automation system for the Continuing Education Center at the university presidency and its formations, with the aim of organizing procedures and facilitating registration, follow-up, and management of training programs and courses electronically, in order to enhance work efficiency and improve the level of services provided to beneficiaries.

Mr. Al-Kaabi stressed the importance of continuing the steps of digital transformation and employing the available technical capabilities, in line with the university’s directions towards building a modern educational and administrative environment, and enhancing the concept of a productive university based on innovation and optimal investment in knowledge and technology.
