The workshop, presented by Assistant Lecturer Saja Sabah Habib, aimed to highlight the importance of protecting children's rights amidst rapid scientific and technological advancements. It addressed key contemporary challenges that may impact children's rights, safety, and development, while also fostering greater societal and institutional awareness regarding the necessity of providing a safe, supportive environment that guarantees a child's fundamental rights.
The workshop covered several topics concerning children's rights in the context of modern scientific and technical shifts. It emphasized the need to navigate these developments in a manner consistent with the humanitarian and legal principles that safeguard children and uphold their dignity. Furthermore, it underscored the role of educational and community institutions in promoting a culture of children's rights and protecting them from emerging risks and challenges.
This workshop is part of the ongoing awareness-raising initiatives led by the University’s Continuing Education Center and the Human Rights Division. These efforts seek to embed a culture of human rights and enhance awareness of social and humanitarian issues, ultimately contributing to the development of a university environment that is more conscious of and engaged with matters of societal importance.
