Basra University for Oil and Gas is organizing a training course on: "Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation: Applications, Risks, and Legal Protection"

Under the patronage of the President of Basra Oil and Gas University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Halil Hafez Al-Kaabi, the Continuing Education Center at the Presidency of Basra Oil and Gas University organized, on Wednesday morning, October 14, 2026, a training course entitled: (Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, Applications, Risks and Legal Protection), with the participation of a number of university staff.

The course addressed a number of scientific and legal topics related to artificial intelligence technologies and digital transformation, highlighting their most prominent applications in various fields, as well as discussing the risks and challenges arising from the increasing use of these technologies, and ways to enhance awareness of legal protection mechanisms for data, information and digital rights.

The course was presented by Professor Dr. Salah Faleh Falih, Lecturer Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid, and Assistant Lecturer Sajjad Sabah Awam, all faculty members at the University of Basra/College of Science and Information Technology. They presented a range of scientific and applied topics that contribute to enhancing the participants’ understanding of the requirements of digital transformation and the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies.

This course comes as part of the efforts of the University's Continuing Education Center to enhance the skills of its members and keep pace with rapid technological and legal developments, in line with the University's orientations towards supporting digital transformation and developing the educational and administrative environment.
