Basra University for Oil and Gas participates in the training workshop to launch the psychological counseling and mental health platform

Dr. Fatima Hadi Ahmed, Head of the University Guidance Division at Basra University for Oil and Gas, participated this morning, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the training workshop held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to launch the Psychological Guidance and Mental Health Platform, which aims to enhance the psychological well-being of students and improve the level of psychological care provided to them.

This participation comes within the framework of the university’s keenness to keep pace with the ministry’s directions and initiatives aimed at promoting mental health in the university environment, spreading awareness of the importance of psychological counseling, and providing the necessary support to students in a way that contributes to achieving psychological and social stability, and enhancing their ability to continue their academic journey successfully.

This step confirms the importance of integrating institutional efforts in providing a safe and supportive university environment that pays attention to students’ mental health and takes into account their needs, in line with the goals of higher education in building a conscious generation capable of creativity and excellence.
