One of the major objectives of BUOG is to complete the execution of its permanent building in Qurna that was designed by the American Icon Inc., the designs provide an integrated educational city that will be close to the major oil fields in Qurna.
Second
The second objective is the fulfillment of the future plan that includes the establishment of three new colleges (Oil and Gas Extractive Operations Engineering College, Oil and Gas Transformative and Industrial Operations Engineering College and Oil and Gas Industrial Management College), all colleges deal with energy fields and will contribute greatly to the advancement of the industrial sector of Iraq.
Third
The university is working hard to achieve scientific cooperation and twinning agreements with other petroleum specialized universities.
Fourth
The university seeks to provide adequate housing for its faculty staff and employees within the system of its future headquarter in Qurna.
Fifth
Hiring energy specialized professors from other countries to fill the need of the university.
